These clay pots, designed by the Landscape Studio, were inspired by the form of the sea urchin. Chloe Humphreys, who founded the studio with her husband Michael, tells me they started off as sketched ideas, forms and with time have slowly evolved into what you see here.
The Landscape Studio is a small landscape design team, based out of Karen that works on diverse projects from large developments to private houses and parks.
The studio carefully balances stunning aesthetics with functionality. These pots, made in Kabete from red clay, fit perfectly into a simple landscape. Some of the pots in this series allow for plants to be planted within the clay containers. The designs can just as easily be placed without plants “perhaps in a quiet paved courtyard” as the studio suggests.
